For producers and promoters
Bring your show
to a house that
already has
an audience.
Self-produce in a downtown theatre with a fly house, a rigged grid and fifty years of people who know where it is.
How it works
Four steps, no surprises
01
Send your dates
A range rather than a single night, Monday to Saturday. It lets us find you something that actually works, including the load-in and tech days. We do not take bookings on Sundays.
02
We confirm what is free
Within two business days you get real availability, a cost, and anything about your production that needs solving first.
03
Agree the terms
A flat hire, or a lower fee against a share of the box office. Which suits you depends on how confident you are in the house.
04
We hold it in writing
Nothing is booked on a phone call. You get written confirmation with the dates, the access hours and what is included.
Ticketing
Your choice, and ours is the default
Most producers take our box office, because the mailing list is the reason to be in this room rather than a cheaper one. If you sell through your own platform and want to keep your buyer data, keep it.
Use our box office
We sell the tickets, handle the exchanges and the phones, and put your show in front of the Downtown Cabaret list.
Charged as a per-ticket fee or built into a revenue share.
Bring your own
We publish your link, list the show and still promote it. You keep the buyer relationship.
Front of house and ushering are quoted separately either way.
What it costs
Priced on what you are doing, not on your tax status
A tech rehearsal and a sold-out Saturday are not the same product, so they are not the same price.
| Ticketed performance | A base hire plus box office, or a lower guarantee against a share of the gross. The share suits a show that expects to fill the room; the flat fee suits one that wants certainty. |
|---|---|
| Community and non-profit | A reduced base rate on off-peak dates for registered 501(c)(3) organisations, with an optional box office split. |
| Rehearsal and tech days | By the hour or half day, at a fraction of a performance rate, because no audience means no front of house. |
| Add-ons | Lighting and sound operators, front of house staff, the fly system, extra load-in time and cleaning, quoted per production. |
Why this room
Five hundred productions have already worked here
This is not a converted hall with a PA. A fly house, a rigged grid, a balcony and a control booth, in a building that has been part of Bridgeport since 1941.
Comedy, tribute concerts, book musicals, children's theatre and straight plays have all filled it. The archive is public, so you can judge the fit yourself.
